I once heard an interview with an old rock and roll musician. The musician was asked what he thought the worst thing that happened to music in his lifetime. I suppose some folks would have said (perhaps) hip-hop, rap, techno, or metal. However, he replied that he thought it was MTV. The host of course asked why, and the musician replied, because it took a musical experience and turned it into a theatrical one.
Consider what the media has turned our political process into.
