Time to Vote for the Winning Cartoon Caption!

After a few drinks, many raucous laughs and a prolonged bout of shouting and ceramic-poodle-tossing, the editorial staff and I narrowed the list of captions submitted this week to five. (Cartoon with finalists’ captions after jump.) This cartoon was a bit more challenging, in my humble opinion at least, than last week’s. But everyone rose to the challenge – that’s why it was so hard to select the finalists.

Without further delay, the five final captions for the Splendid Marbles Cartoon Caption Contest are listed below:

1. “I hate these imaginary creatures drink free nights.” From Katharine.
2. “Damn, why couldn’t I work in Area 50 or 52?” From Kyle Banderman.
3. “Looks like someone needs to phone home!” From Gary W.
4. “Listen pal, if you don’t settle down I’m calling Immigration.” From Lucy Schwartz.
5. “I’d be careful buddy, signs of aggression are mating habits for dragons…” From Joe Walters.

Please vote in the “What’s Your Opinion” section, located in the center column, below “Recent Marbles” and a box of crappy ads. You have until midnight, Sunday (January 11th) to cast your vote for the best caption. I’ll post the cartoon with the winning caption inserted on Monday at noon, along with a brand new caption contest. I would like to thank everyone who participated – have a good weekend.

As for last week’s “A-Hole Club” caption contest – IT’S STILL A TIE! (You have until midnight, Sunday to vote on this one as well.)
