In some ways I’ll miss W. Yes, I know he was a two-legged wrecking ball with regard to economic, foreign, environmental and education policy – to name the ones that jump to the top of the list in my mind. (Images after jump.) Actually, pretty much anything and everything that could be touched by the federal government was tarnished during his eight-year reign. But, he sure did create a deep, almost bottomless well of material for cartoonists, late night talk show hosts, and fake news cable programs like “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
So, as a cartoonist, I must thank him. I will be glad to see W. pass quietly into the Texas brush, but his ability to ignite the creative fires in those with even a glimmer of a social conscience will be tough to beat. Although, I do have some hope in the growing ranks of bickering Democrats in Congress – and of course sleazoids such as Illinois governor Blagojevich will always surface on a regular basis. Then there’s the economic meltdown of the century, with the newest incarnation of greed that it is inspiring among lawmakers and business folk who are claiming to serve the public good as they line their pockets crafting emergency stimulus bills laden with giveaways to the very same jackasses who caused this mess. (I sincerely apologize for that smelly beast of a sentence.)
On second thought, I will be pretty busy in the months ahead. (I didn’t even mention the Obama merchandizing juggernaut – did we elect a president, or resurrect Elvis?)
Anyway, please scroll down the page to see some of my better W. cartoons. (I also threw in a bunch of Dick Cheney cartoons for good measure – how could we forget him?) Enjoy!

What are you going to do now? Will you be as harsh on our savior, Barack Obama?
Yeah, punk, will ya? Will ya?
